PRIVATE SCHOOLS – vs – PUBLIC SCHOOLS – COST & AID

In this section I will be discussing Private Institutions vs Public in regard to Cost & Aid.TIPS & TRICKS FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE APPLYING TO COLLEGE FOR THE YEAR OF 2015

If you look at the cost of a 4 year education at a public vs private institution the cost can sometimes be more than double. I know this is very discouraging. However, what you may not know is that in the private sector they very often have much more in the way of Aid & Scholarships. This is because the funds come from private donations and support. Whereas public Grants & Aid are based mostly on financial need.

When you are looking at schools PLEASE look at the private sector. If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher they often give Grants for that. These Grants can be renewed each year as long as you keep your grades up. They also offer Grants based on Community Service, Leadership, and more.

The best way to see what a school is offering for their students is to go to the school website and look under Admissions-Grants, Aid, Scholarships. See what that school offers and be sure to pay close attention to deadlines because some of them are very early. You will see that every school has something different.

Some schools offer as much as $30,000 a year if you have a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Some of these schools are smaller and you may not have heard of them but you can get an amazing education at a private Institution for less than it would cost at a public one.

Also, once you find some that look good “Google” them and you will be surprised at what great schools they are. Don’t be fooled just because you may not have heard of them does NOT mean they don’t have great education.

Do your homework and you will be amazed at what you can find. It’s never too early to start looking for a great college that is affordable.
