Annual summer event continues every Saturday through August 30th.
For 25 years, the City of Santa Clarita has provided residents with a lineup of incredible musical guests each summer as part of their Concerts In The Park series.
Originally held at different parks throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, for the past several years, the concerts have had a home at Central Park in Saugus. \
These are family friendly events, with artists hailing from across the country, and in some cases, our own back yard. This year’s series kicked off on July 12th with DSB (Don’t Stop Believin’), which is tribute band performing songs from the iconic 70’s and 80’s group, Journey.
July 19th will feature a country theme with three local finalists of the Country Showdown competing against each other to move on to the regional finals. Country showdown is billed as America’s #1 Country Music Talent Search, so you may just be watching the performance of the next country superstar! The three finalists are Marie Wise-Hawkins, J’ Rose, and the country group Annie Bodies. Following the competition, country artist Suzanne Harper will take the stage. Suzanne was one of last year’s national Country Showdown finalists.
Classic rock, and especially Led Zeppelin fans will enjoy Led Zepagain on July 26th, followed on August 2nd by Hotel California “A Salute To The Eagles.”
Expect a wild rock and roll party as Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries take the stage on August 9th. They have been featured performers at world-class venues in addition to their appearances at three Super Bowls and the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. They always leave the crowds screaming for more! So fasten your seat belts, get ready for take off and get set to “blast into the past”.
Those looking for fiery, gritty latin and blues will enjoy Poncho Sanchez on August 16th, and get ready to take a trip back to the 80’s and 90’s with Hollywood U2, billed as the “World’s Greatest U2 Tribute Band” on August 23rd.
The Concerts in the Park series will conclude Saturday, August 30th with the disco stylings of Boogie Nights. Prepare to be taken back to the wild nights of the 70’s and dance the night away.
